A greater future today
CIDETEC is a private applied research organisation founded in 1997 with the aim of creating value for companies by attracting, generating and transferring technological knowledge. Its current workforce is comprised of 215 people, 80% of whom have a university degree and 40% have a PhD. Its turnover reached €15m in 2021.
Located in the Donostia-San Sebastián headquarters of the Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park and with additional facilities at MUBIL, the Gipuzkoa Electromobility Hub, CIDETEC integrates three international technological reference institutes: CIDETEC Energy Storage, CIDETEC Nanomedicine and CIDETEC Surface Engineering.
The researchers and technologists that make up CIDETEC have the fundamental objective of transforming the organisation’s knowledge capital into industrialisable and sustainable solutions. For this reason, CIDETEC is involved in ongoing investment in the qualification of personnel and currently has 17 theses in progress, has published 192 ISI papers in the last 5 years, has 29 active patent families and has participated in the formation of 6 spin-offs. These indicators are the result of a clear commitment to innovation and excellence in research.
